Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color Collection

Tom Ford never fails to excite. His ad campaigns have always been tinged in controversy as his pushes the boundaries of decency every time he releases an advertising campaign. Who could forget his campaign for Gucci where the G logo was shaved into a models pubic hair? And then when he launched his first fragrance, his perfume bottle was the only thing keeping the models decent down ‘there’. This time for the launch of his own signature lipstick line, Private Blend, he’s shot a model seductively applying lipstick on to her open mouth as a male model moves in for a kiss. Read in to it what you like, we think it’s hot (an overly airbrushed). Watch the video.

Each lipstick is packaged in an amazingly chic ivory and gold case that you almost want to slip into a velvet pouch to keep it pristine and free of chips. Whether you choose Bare Nude or Fire Red (Ford's fave? Cherry Lush--the one in the marketing materials), each highly-pigmented lipstick includes a selection of exotic ingredients, including soja seed extract, Brazilian Murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil which, when combined, create an ultra-creamy texture with a velvety smooth application. Also of note, the lipsticks have no rose or floral scent. Disappointed? Don't be. Tom has conveniently made a purse-sized index card that matches his lipstick colors with his own fragrances. For example, Vanilla Suede nude goes with Azure Lime or Jasmine Musk. True Coral goes with Black Violet. Smoke Red lipstick goes with Tobacco Vanille perfume. Love!

The Tom Ford line doesn’t launch until June 1, but it will be available online and in stores at Saks, Bergdorfs, and Neiman Marcus.

Love
