Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all my friends and admirers. Hope you are planning to have a fun time this Halloween!

"Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing, For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble." – William Shakespeare

"There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin." – Linus from 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown'

Noumi Kudryavka, also known as "Kud" for short, is a girl who is a quarter Japanese, and three-quarters Russian. Her grandfather was Japanese, and per his influence on her, she came to know much about the Japanese culture, including the language. She is very bad in English, though. She is Riki's classmate and is in the home economics club. Kudryavka has a pet Siberian Husky named Strelka. The hat and cloak that she wears were handmade. She spent most of her childhood traveling around the world, and her home country is a small, southern nation closer to the equator; this is the reason for her hat and cloak — she finds Japan cold due to her country's climate. Her favorite phrase is "wafū!"

100 Books sold! WOW! Thank you all!

I did a recent check of my sales from Blurb and was thrilled to see that I have sold 100 books to date. Half of those sales were from my two most recent photo books. Now I have to find a way to encourage those who purchased my books to write an endorsement! If you are one of those wonderful people who has been following my blog and purchased one (or more) of my books please take a few minutes to sign on to Blurb and write a short endorsement! Thank you.

My most recent portfolio has over 300 pages of modeling photos from the last 6+ years. The best option is to order the Hardcover Image Wrap book. It's a great coffee table book.

Sweet Lolita Andrea

As you can tell I am so excited about and interested in Gothic and Lolita fashions and lifestyle. I have only had this book available for about 2 weeks and already it has sold more than 20 copies.

There are 3 other books that are available also. One of my favorites is "The Bride" which is a collection of bridal photos taken at two very famous locations in the Atlanta area. Centennial Olympic Park and Stone Mountain.

Loli Halloween

I went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens this past week to view a wonderful exhibit of scarecrows. The weather was sunny and temperate. A beautiful afternoon for a stroll. Of course, being in full Sweet Lolita, I got a lot of attention. The more precious response was from little girls who asked if I was a Princess. But we all know the answer to that question! Giggle.

The first photo is my favorite. A Lolita Scarecrow. She is so cute and adorable! Don't you adore the pink lace sash?

This one takes a bit more imagination. But its not hard to see a gorgeous ballerina in motion. Notice she is dancing on one leg while the other leg strikes the perfect ballet pose in perfect balance with with the arms.

Much more to come on Halloween.

Dreaming of a Dream Dress

I read a lovely posting on "One Thousand Frills: A Lolita Fashion Blog". It's all about the concept of a dream dress. For a Lolita it is literally falling in love with a dream dress.

I fell in love with this dress the first time I saw it! Notice the 3 lovely matching pink bows! Aren't the lacy gloves cute also? Really adds to the overall cuteness of the dress. The knee socks also have lace and bows. The lace trim is delicate and exquisite. Of course, the entire dress has such sweet shades of girly pink! I'd probably wear this dress everywhere! I'm going to do my best to see if I can find this pattern!

Lolita Fashion, a short documentary

This is an exceptional short documentary all about Lolita Fashion. Lots of great information and the Lolita girls look great in their selection of outfits.

Here are a few of my favorite links about the Lolita Lifestyle.
Lolita Charm is an insightful and gorgeous blog. The author is very creative and has an intense passion for the topic.

The blog, Princessly Living, was created on the whimsical ideas of one woman. This memoir is based on lifestyle ideals of a princess lolita. I find the blog charming and sweet. Lady Kristen is one of a kind.

One thousand frills is oh sooo girly. All about fashions and styles. I do wish she would write more!

Loli Andrea

I've been doing a lot of interesting reading into the Gothic & Lolita fashion and lifestyle. I adore fashion. This is another very beautiful and exciting fashion avenue. I have created a new book about Gothic and Lolita. It has lots of photos of me in my blue Lolita outfit plus photos of me in my two pink Angelic Pretty dresses. Not to mention that it includes so much more about the fashions, the lifestyle and how it began.

Major brands, such as Metamorphose temps de fille, Angelic Pretty, hNaoto, Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and Moi-même-Moitié have recently shipped goods to the international market. This is still not widespread, as many of the clothes produced by non-Japanese designers are not accepted by the Lolita community for being inaccurate in portraying the style as related to the British 'goth' or French maid look, and not as high-quality as the expensive Japanese brand clothes. Lolita magazines are widely available for purchase on the internet and at Japanese bookstores, which also deal in anime and manga. However, there is a growing group of dedicated western Lolita fans who wear Lolita clothing on a semi-regular basis, and the Gothic and Lolita Bible now has an American version which not only features translated content from the original magazine but also content from a small but growing group of western Lolita designers from around the world such as Candy Violet, In the Starlight, Blasphemina's Closet, and Sweet Rococo. Celebrity author Novala Takemoto, who is an important figure within Lolita culture and was once involved with Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, traveled to America in 2006 and remarked at a panel on the resourcefulness of western Lolitas, who often make or adapt their own clothing.
