Movie - The Housmaid

I came across this South Korean movie on Netflix the other day, and was intrigued enough to hit play. It's a 2010 remake of the 1960s Korean movie with the same name, but beautifully directed this second time around by Im Sang-soo. Every scene was beautiful, I loved the acting, and the cinematography was gorgeous. I found out what other movies Im Sang-soo has directed and am trying to find some that have sub titles like this one had. (Unfortunately most don't have subtitles).

This is a very seductive and mysterious movie and it drew me in from the first scene. It's quite risque. so don't watch with your parents or while you're babysitting. By the seems of it, most of Im Sang soo's movies are quite erotic and twisted. "A Good Lawyer's Wife" is another one by him that I would like to watch soon.

The house in this movie was so breath taking. I loved all the piano music and the constant red wine motif.

This is a movie about lust, greed, desire, jealousy and vengeance. The very last scene was so beautifully executed, and really drove the theme of the movie home.
I would recommend this movie for anyone in the mood for a different kind of movie experience. Don't watch if you favour the typical formulaic American blockbusters though - you probably won't fancy this one.

^A Good Lawyer's Wife movie poster^ Really want to see this one =)

Have you watched any South Korean/Asian movies before?
Do you like foreign films?
