It's hard to tell whether it was seeing a fabulous movie or being with so many wonderful girlfriends that made Friday evening so fantastic. Probably a combination of both. We met at PF Changs for dinner at 6 PM. There were only four of us for the first hour. But that was awesome because the four of us girls got a chance to chat and know each other so much better. By 8 PM we were a much larger group.The movie in 3D and Imax was spectacular. The visual effects were incredible. I loved Mia Wasikowski as Alice. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was awesome as usual. Helena Bonham Carter is most assuredly portraying the Queen of Hearts, both in attire and in attitude -- not to mention the quite real beheadings. Anne Hathaway is gorgeous as the dainty White Queen who is looking for her champion. While it's a simple story - Alice has to decide whether to accept a marriage proposal from a geeky guy and live the life he wants her to lead or choose to be her own woman and find her own path. It is a coming of age story of a dream child with quite an independent streak. A message that resonates for all of us Lolitas! Here are some more photos!
